He had complained several times of inadequate health facilities in Taloja prison.

Activist Stan Swamy (84), who was arrested under an anti-terror law in the Elgar Parishad case last year, died on Monday. This was informed by his lawyer to the Bombay High Court. The activist has been on ventilator support since yesterday. He was being treated at the Holy Family Hospital in Mumbai, following a court order.

Stan Swamy had complained several times of inadequate health facilities in the Taloja prison in Navi Mumbai, where he was an undertrial. He had even filed a plea for bail in the High Court, challenging a section of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
