Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra has tested positive for COVID. His colleague, election commissioner Rajiv Kumar also tested positive for coronavirus. Chandra recently took over as CEC from Sunil Arora.
Both Chandra and Kumar will work from home, it is learnt.
There has been a massive surge of COVID-19 across the country, with India recording 2.59 lakh cases on a single day on Tuesday. After Arora’s retirement, it is a two-bench Election Commission with Sushil Chandra and Rajiv Kumar at the helm.
