Election dates announced for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Telengana, all results on December 11

The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced election dates for five states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Telengana – to be held in November and December 2018. Chief Election Commissioner, OP Rawat said that counting of votes for all the states will be held on the same day – December 11, when the results will be announced.

The EC announced a single phase election for Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram – to be held on November 28. A two-phase election has been announced for Chhattisgarh – on 18 seats will have elections on November 12 and another 72 seats will have elections on November 20.

Rajasthan and Telengana too will have elections in a single phase, on December 7.

With the announcement, the model code of conduct for elections comes into effect in all five poll-bound states.
