Nearly two weeks after the killing of Rising Kashmir editor-in-chief Shujaat Bukhari on June 14, Jammu and Kashmir Police finally identified all three of his assailants. Police said two of them are residents of south Kashmir while another one hails from Pakistan.
Police identified the Pakistani national as Naveed Jatt who escaped from police custody while he was being treated in the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in February this year. Police said he is associated Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
Police also traced the Pakistan-based militant and blogger who started a campaign against Bukhari.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir police released images of the three suspected killers who were seen riding on a two-wheeler before arresting the fourth suspect on June 16.
