Mukul Roy was threatened about “agencies”, BJP doesn’t allow leaders to work with peace of mind: Mamata Banerjee
Banerjee said this at a press conference during Roy's "return" to Trinamool
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that her former aide Mukul Roy had been threatened about “agencies”. The Trinamool chief has been reiterating that her party leaders have often been threatened by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders that action would be taken against them through central investigating agencies like Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and so on.
Banerjee spoke on the “agencies” again on Friday, when Mukul Roy rejoined the Trinamool Congress along with his son Subhrangshu. She added that “no one can work with the BJP”. “Mukul Roy’s return to the party has given him peace of mind. He was falling ill, though perhaps he could not say it openly,” Banerjee said, adding that for Roy, Trinamool Congress was home. She further added that the BJP does not allow leaders to work with peace of mind, and they “are cruel”. “Mukul Roy’s return to Trinamool Congress also proves that,” she said, adding that while Trinamool is a party of the poor, BJP is a party of “zamindars”.
