Rana Uppalapati, international skater started his journey on skates to cover 6,000 km in 90 days from Hosur, on September 5 and has covered Tumakuru, Sira, Chitradurga, Hubli and Belgaum in Karnataka, Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai in Maharashtra, Bharuch and Vadodara in Gujarat, and then went on to Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna. He was in Kolkata on Saturday as part of his skating tour.
Rana has already covered over 3,900 km and has collected funds to support the education of over 8,000 girl children.
As part of the 90 days journey, the program will raise funds for the education of 25,000 underprivileged girl children and create awareness among 6 lakh children on child safety, especially on ‘good touch and bad touch’.
Uppalapati said he wanted to do his bit to educate not only girls but also boys on “good touch and bad touch”.
