The Bengal Story Bureau: Honda has officially introduced its most affordable electric scooter in the Indian market, the QC1. Priced at Rs 90,487 (ex-showroom), the new battery-powered two-wheeler is designed specifically for daily urban commutes and positions the Japanese manufacturer firmly in the entry-level electric vehicle segment.
Battery, Motor and Range
The Honda QC1 is powered by a 1.5 kWh fixed lithium-ion battery pack with an IP67 water and dust resistance rating. The battery is paired with a 1.8 kW BLDC in-wheel hub motor that produces 77 Nm of peak torque.
According to the company, the scooter delivers a claimed range of 80 km on a single charge under IDC test conditions. It has a restricted top speed of 50 kmph, which the automaker states is sufficient for congested city traffic. For charging, Honda provides a 330W off-board portable charger equipped with CAN auto-cut technology. This unit can charge the battery from zero to 80 per cent in four hours and 30 minutes, while a full charge takes approximately six hours and 50 minutes.

Hardware and Practical Features
The QC1 is built on an underbone chassis and features a conventional scooter design that shares visual similarities with the popular Activa series. The suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and a five-step adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorber. The scooter rides on a 12-inch front alloy wheel and a 10-inch rear wheel, with braking handled by 130 mm front and 110 mm rear drum brakes. A combined braking system (CBS) comes as standard for added safety.
Despite its budget positioning, the scooter offers several practical utility features. Riders get a five-inch digital LCD instrument console that displays speed, battery state of charge, trip meter and the selected riding mode. The vehicle offers two riding modes, Standard and Econ. Other notable additions include a USB Type-C charging port, full LED illumination across the headlight and tail lamp, and a spacious 26-litre under-seat storage compartment.
Available in five colour options including Pearl Serenity Blue and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, the Honda QC1 will compete against other entry-level electric scooters such as the Ola S1 X, Bajaj Chetak 2901 and TVS iQube series in the expanding Indian electric two-wheeler market.
