She had a perfect job any 31-year old could aspire for. But the brutal gang-rape of a woman and her daughter in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr in 2016 shook her, prompting her to give up the comfort and challenges of a corporate job in Hong Kong.
Srishthi  Bakshi was back in India, with the determination of raising awareness to make the country a safer place for women.
Bakshi planned a walking mission from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on foot. She started her journey in September last year with the target of covering 25 to 30 km every day.
On her way, Bakshi not only walked,  she also organised several awareness sessions for village women in schools and colleges to educate them on the condition of women in India, their security concerns and social status.
After a rigorous 230 days, walking through 11 states, Bakshi finally completed the 3600km-long ‘walk mission’ in Srinagar on May 2.
She doesn’t however, think that she has completed a successful ‘mission’. She wants an India where every woman will feel safe.
