COVID-19: Kerala’s Padmanabhaswamy temple temporarily closed after 10 priests test positive

Entry to the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Kerala has been banned till October 15 after at least 10 priests from the temple tested positive for COVID-19. The chief priest and the joint chief priest are among those who tested positive.

According to V Ratheesan, chief executive officer of the temple, the tantric who usually performs special ceremonies, will perform the daily pujas in the temple, but without devotees.

The country so far has recorded 69,06,151 cases till Friday, with 70,496 new cases in the past 24 hours. The death toll reached 1,06,490, with 964 deaths in one day.
