Srijan Roy, BJP leader Mukul Roy’s brother-in-law, was arrested by West Bengal police on Friday night for allegedly duping many young aspirants by promising them jobs in Indian Railways.
Srijan Roy allegedly took lakhs of rupees promising jobs to some youths in Mukul Roy’s stronghold, Bijpur area of North 24 Parganas district, near Kolkata. Some of the duped candidates had lodged complaint against him in Bijpur police station, which prompted the Barrackpore Commissionerate to start an investigation. On Friday night, police nabbed Srijan Roy from Delhi and brought him to Kolkata.
With his arrest, there were speculations that Mukul Roy could be next as several complaints have been lodged against him too for duping people similarly.
