Naxal with reward of 47 lakh surrenders

Senior Maoist leader Pahad singh alias Ram Mohammad Singh Toppo, who had been associated with the banned outfit for nearly two decades has surrendered before Durg Inspector General of Police, GP Singh, police has confirmed. Singh had a cumulative reward of Rs 47 lakh on him from the states Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

A search operation was already on by the three states to nab Singh, who had been active since 1999.
A resident of Rajnandgaon district, he was a member of Madhya Pradesh Chattisgarh Special Zonal Committee (MMCSZC) since it was formed. He was a secretary of the Maoists’ Gondia division.
